Four Barrel Mugs
In my time working at Four Barrel Coffee in San Francisco, I did somewhere around 20 mug graphics. Four Barrel is known for their tongue in cheek sense of humor and their dark whit, so these projects were always a lot of fun. Here are some of my favorites, including the infamous Four Barrel "Fuck It" mug.
Four Barrel Website
The Four Barrel website was a massive undertaking, and a big team effort. Working with copywriters, photographers, coders, and other designers we built out a new, much more beautiful website for the brand. This site was built in collaboration with Needmore Designs in Portland, OR.
The biggest part of my job was illustration, layout, typography, and iconography. See the live site at fourbarrelcoffee.com
Verve Bear Mug
A staple of Verve Coffee's merchandise line.
One of my favorite parts of my career was designing a full line of apparel and merchandise for Verve Coffee in Santa Cruz, California. If you can't tell by just looking, we had a ball designing this stuff!
Tote bag for Verve Coffee roasters in Santa Cruz, California.
Verve Coffee is known for it's fun, energetic brand, and their marketing was meant to line up with these ethos.
The Southwest Region Barista Competition was hosted by Verve in 2013. I did the branding for the event, which was reproduced into posters, shirts, mugs, hats, and so on. Since the event was held in Santa Cruz, I decided to go with classic surf and skate imagery from the 90’s. These hand screen-printed posters were a limited run of 50.
A series of illustrations I made for my own enjoyment, on a map of my favorite city. The illustrations coorespond to the different districts of Los Angeles..
A T-Shirt I created for local legends Another Bike Shop. This was part of a series representing their favorite mountain bike trails in the area.
“Kevin Tudball is a modern-day Renaissance man. In addition to making music, the Santa Cruz-based folk-rock musician spends his days working as a painter and graphic designer for Verve Coffee Roasters, and after garnering sufficient proceeds through a Kickstarter fundraising campaign last month, he released his debut album, Everywhere At Once. Tudball, originally from Michigan, strums the acoustic guitar and sings about traveling, the sea, self-discovery and love—a poetic reflection on a nomadic and multi-faceted, artistic lifestyle. His song “Get Movin’ On,” tells a story of returning to his roots in Michigan, life on the road between Northern and Southern California, old lovers, glasses of wine, and how good it feels to hit Highway 17 on his way back home to Santa Cruz again.” – Santa Cruz Good Times
For a brief period I did a series of weekly illustrations, which I sold on Etsy. These are some of my favorites.
I've done a lot of logos over the years. These are some of my favorites.
The Florist Painting
This painting is an altered found piece. The original still-life was being thrown out at a local cafe. I recovered it, and made it my own.
I worked with the band Hurricane Rosesto create artwork for each of the songs on their new album Home to Haunt You. It was released as a limited edition song-writer’s journal to be sold at their shows.
